Libra

September 22, 2021 – October 22, 2021
Libra Gemstone:
Opal
Ruling Planet: Venus
Venus Gemstones: Lapis Lazuli, White Beryl, Quartz, Danburite, Diamond

For all of us here at AEC, improving our balance and harmony with the universe is something we're always working to improve. Over the years we've noticed that as soon as we seem to be getting a handle on things, something changes seemingly out of the blue bringing challenges and disruption to our life. Yay.

After more than enough times of looking in the mirror and screaming, "WTH!" we began to see a pattern. These shifts almost always aligned with either the moon phases or some other astrological shift. As we began to take note of these events and adjust our spiritual growth and self-care routines around them there was a new shift, progress!

We finally began seeing the consistent growth we wanted. It felt like our spiritual journey had finally started for real. And while it was just a new beginning, it also felt like an end. The end of an old lifestyle and belief system we had been trying to shed for years.

After continuing this practice for awhile we started thinking about how we could improve it. What if we could plan a detailed breakdown of the best practices for each zodiac season on a week by week basis? And already have our crystals preselected and have meditations and affirmations ready to go so that even when things got hard we knew what to do. So we asked our teacher, Akashic Astrologer Jeremy R. Werner, if he would be willing to give us his astrology insight to help with this and he said yes!

We loved it so much and have found so much benefit from it that we wanted to share it with all of you in the form of monthly posts here on our blog. Here is the outlook for this Libra season:

You & Me are We!

Vhe Sun’s ingress into Libra marks the Fall Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere and a powerful time of transition when the hours of day and the hours of night are equal, highlighting balance, harmony and equality. As the seasons shift, so does our focus from matters of the self to matters of relationship with others. Libra, the Sign of Partnership, represents our relational blueprint and how we project ourselves onto others who then mirror ourselves back to us. When we recognize that the development of our own Self comes through contact with others, we see that we are really a Self-in-Relationship and that our relational experiences involve a shared responsibility.
Libra is Cardinal Air and signifies the active use of the mind for socializing, negotiating and exercising diplomacy. The Sign of the Scales also represents justice and fairness and emphasizes moral honesty and accountability. With Venus ruling this Sign, we are encouraged to resolve any conflict through graceful social interactions and peaceful encounters.

Meditation: The Landscape of Relationship

To understand more fully how you relate with others or with a person or group in particular, explore The Landscape of Relationship through these simple steps.

Light a candle and place a Clear Quartz crystal in front of it. Then, hold a Lapis Lazuli in each palm. Clear Quartz acts as an amplifier of intention, and Lapis Lazuli opens the Third Eye, enhances intuition and brings the light of truth to one’s consciousness.
Now, close your eyes, take a few deep breaths and relax into the energies for a few minutes.

Then, think about relationship in general or the specific relationship you wish to explore. Once you have this clearly in mind, ask to see The Landscape of Relationship. Begin to see a natural landscape appear in your mind.

Notice the terrain, the land, the air, the time of day, the light and other distinguishing features. Take in the general qualities and feeling of the landscape, then question how this relates to the relationship you’re working with. When ready, start walking through the landscape and notice what you see, who or what you meet and how you feel along the way. Interact with whatever calls your attention. You can dialogue with anything in this relationship dreamscape to discover new insights and guidance. Look around and behind objects or places to discover hidden truths, patterns or issues that need attention and resolution. Keep in mind that as you’re exploring this Landscape, you are on a sacred journey. Each step brings a new depth of awareness and offers an opportunity to know yourself and others more clearly.

Meditate for as long as desired, and when complete, bring your awareness back to the breath. Through slow deep breaths, call yourself fully back into your body. Feel your feet on the ground and the energies in the room. Gently open your eyes when ready, and journal and/or draw The Landscape of Relationship. When complete, hold gratitude in your Heart and gently blow out the candle. Throughout the day, notice how you relate with others or with the person or group you chose to work with. Repeat this meditation as often as needed for greater understanding of your relational dynamics.

Astro Aspects

A Grand Trine with the Mars-Sun conjunction in Libra, Saturn retrograde in Aquarius and the North Node in Gemini

This Grand Trine in Air Signs opens a doorway into the mind that assists us in discovering what is held there! While Mars is in its detriment in Libra, preferring self-initiation and action instead of waiting around for others, the Mars-Sun conjunction in Libra motivates us to find those relationships which will help us to manifest our goals and intentions. This is a time to strategize and to find creative ways to work with others in cooperation rather than in competition. With this influence, we may become more aware of our tendencies to leave others behind as we pursue our ventures and then realize that we need the help of others along the way.

With the Mars-Sun conjunction trine Saturn retrograde in Aquarius, our pursuit of partnership involves the need to network and develop a community of those in alignment with our purpose. There may be delays, limitations and frustrations through our endeavors that provide the means for self-reflection and help us to clarify our own intentions and motivations.

The North Node in Gemini inspires us to think about our future vision and challenges us to resolve our differences through clear communication. During this time, we need to take an honest and critical look at who we are and where we’re going on our path. This personal inventory helps us to identify any carried karmic patterns that continue to play out and inhibit our full self-expression.

To help resource these energies, clarify your mind and move forward on your ideas with others, wear a bracelet or carry the stone triad of Black Obsidian, Yellow Citrine and Rose Quartz. Black Obsidian is volcanic glass that reflects our inner truths, including those we have wished to avoid. Through the clear, direct and honest self-confrontation that Black Obsidian provides, we can identify and remove mental obstacles that inhibit the manifestation of our ideas. Yellow Citrine brings a solar emanation that clears the mind and energizes our actions. It strengthens our personal will power and encourages creative manifestation. Rose Quartz opens the Heart, offers beauty, compassion and healing and inspires loving interactions with self and others. Together, these stones help us to cooperate with others and synergize our energies for the most beneficial outcome for all involved.

A T-Square with the Moon in Aries opposite Mercury in Libra and square Pluto retrograde in Capricorn, and Mercury in Libra trining Jupiter retrograde in Aquarius

The Moon in Aries signifies strong emotional reactions and the need to be Number One! Our focus turns to ourselves, and we may be bolder than usual in our risk-taking. With all this fiery energy circulating through our emotional bodies, there can be great impulsivity, anger and restlessness… and a bit more daring to move us through our hesitation and resistance. With the Moon opposite Mercury in Libra, we may struggle to find the balance between our own thinking and feeling and between our own needs and the needs of others.

This balancing act is magnified by the square of Pluto retrograde in Capricorn to the Moon-Mercury opposition. Pluto represents our deeper unconscious and the Shadow wherein resides our wounds and hidden motivations. Our challenge is to recognize what forces from within are playing out through our waking lives and relationships. Pluto catalyzes a necessary transformation within ourselves, and we must face the truth of reality to gain the buried riches of enlightenment. Fortunately, Jupiter retrograde in Aquarius joins the party in sextile to the Moon and trine to Mercury. We are blessed by the ability to see the situation from a much larger perspective and may understand more clearly how our behaviors contribute (or not) to our community. Expanding our minds and taking a closer look at our ideals provides us with the inspiration we need to band together with those who share our vision.

To navigate through the depths and maintain dynamic balance, create a meditation circle with Rhodonite (3), Aquamarine (or Blue Calcite, 3) and White Moonstone (2). Rhodonite is a potent healer of the Heart and provides grounding and support through challenging emotional times and painful issues. It helps one to know and reclaim the Inner Self while staying open to cooperation with others. Aquamarine (or Blue Calcite) brings the soothing quality of the sea to help cool and balance any emotional fire. It also cleanses the emotional body, supports clear communication with others and facilitates smooth transitions. White Moonstone helps one to discover the Inner Self in a gentle way while bringing love, healing and balance to the emotional body.

Create the meditation circle by placing one Rhodonite on the floor, then one Aquamarine. Continue by alternating Rhodonite and Aquamarine until all 6 stones are placed in a circle large enough to sit in. Sit inside the circle on the floor or a chair while holding the 2 White Moonstones, one in each hand. The number 6 represents the Heart, unconditional love, empathy and emotional balance. The number 2 represents cooperation and relationship. The number 8 (6 + 2) represents success and balance.

Once the meditation circle is set, close your eyes, relax and settle into the breath. Inhale new life force and exhale whatever is on your mind. Continue to breathe in this way until you feel a shift into inner stillness and peace. Then, ask the Spirit of the Stones to guide you to the depths of your Inner Self. Open to sensations, images, memories or other insights that surface. Follow your stream of consciousness and express any feelings that come. Meditate for 10-15 min or as desired. When complete, hold gratitude in your Heart for your experience and remove the stones in the reverse order. You may clear the stones using sage to smudge them or work with another clearing method of your choice. Remember to journal your insights afterwards so that you can work with them again over time.

Venus in Scorpio opposite Uranus retrograde in Taurus

When a planet contacts Uranus by transit, we can be sure that unexpected change is coming! Here, Venus in Scorpio opposes Uranus, the Great Awakener, and our relationships become charged with intense emotion, passion and the need for change that leads to greater depth and intimacy. Venus prefers peaceful and harmonious interactions, and she is out of her element in Scorpio, which confronts us with reality. This aspect challenges us to look deeper within ourselves and relational dynamics to see what is really going on behind the scenes. Along the way, sudden changes and losses may come from other people and circumstances to help us question our true motivations and bring to light what we have been avoiding. As the saying goes, “The truth will set you free.” Be willing to explore the Shadow, and your relationships will be renewed and transformed with greater light.

To keep you grounded and emotionally balanced this month, wear or carry with you Rainbow Obsidian (or Jet) and Labradorite. Rainbow Obsidian activates the Root Chakra for extra grounding and connection with the Earth while offering its healing emanation to the Heart and emotional body.

Labradorite brings light to one’s inner world, clarifies feeling and thinking and helps one to discover hidden patterns and truths. This dynamic duo of rainbow essence offers support to the one willing to go the distance in excavating one’s own Self.
