Self Empowerment with Crystals

Let’s take a look at some crystals and stones that can boost your life experience - by choosing stones that specifically hold the vibration to increase empowerment we can raise our energetic vibration to match that same vibe - thereby increasing our empowerment.

How does that work?  As mentioned in the article Energy is Everything - crystals can influence your vibration and support you or help you to move into feelings that you want more of.  And they can also support you to move away from feelings or vibrations that you don’t want. So, for example, we can turn to crystals to help release or let go, or to empower and boost up.  See what I mean?

Now we all know there are times that we struggle and crystals can also help support during those times.  In a recent article we discussed fear and some crystals that you can work with to dispel fear. You can link to that article right here, if it’s something you'd like to learn more about.

Empowerment

So what is empowerment? And why would you want self empowerment?

Google defines empowerment as:

The process of becoming stronger and more confident, especially in controlling one's life and claiming one's rights.

Bingo.  I think that covers it well. The process of becoming stronger and more confident.

Now, consider that empowerment can look different for each and every person. Some people feel empowered by their achievements. Others by their ability to say no and to establish boundaries. While some find empowerment in living the life of their dreams and allowing their true selves to shine.

Think about it, when you see someone who is empowered to live their best life with confidence and strength, they are glowing, right?

Creativity

It can also be very empowering to create something on your own. And the reality is that this also can bring up some fear in people.  Feeling put on the spot to “get creative” - but the fact is when we are talking about empowerment creativity is something just for you - it is what comes out of your heart and the well-spring of your spirit.

When is the last time you created something just for you?

Whether it be a painting or drawing, writing in your journal, making a new recipe for your fav dessert. Any type of artistic expression.

Try this exercise:

Consider taking some time to stir the cauldron of your 2nd and 3rd Chakras and allow yourself to freely express yourself. This can take any form of art that calls to you - you don’t have to share your creations with anyone, and it does not need to be elaborate - this creativity session is just for you.  We are all creative beings when we allow ourselves to be.

Tip:  You can wear or carry the stones listed below to inspire yourself and allow the creativity to FLOW.

Why is Self Empowerment important?

Now on first thought some of you might associate empowerment with a radical protest or political movement.  Even if you are not the type that would go to a rally or a protest, that’s only one aspect of living an empowered life, and that type of living is not for everyone.

Being self empowered is an important part of living your life to the fullest. It helps you to make confident decisions towards a life that is in alignment with your values and goals.

The choices and the path that are just right for you.

My neighbor might be empowered by her time sitting quietly alone, reading a book.  The small shop owner might be empowered by hosting a successful open house. The real estate agent may feel empowered when she shows property to potential buyers.   You might be empowered by completing a goal or step-by-step working towards a goal. A daily workout. A particularly challenging yoga pose you’ve been hoping to master.

And since we live in a world of 7 billion individuals you can imagine that empowerment will look different for almost everyone.

For me, there are many ways that I feel empowered.  And it’s true I have a sense of empowerment when I accomplish something I’ve been committed to, when I’ve seen something to completion that I’ve worked towards.  And sometimes ... you might think this is funny, but it is something I’ve done for several years now … sometimes upon completing a special goal, I buy a piece of crystal jewelry to celebrate and commemorate the occasion.  This has proved to be another way to tap into empowerment because when you look upon that special piece, it will always remind you of your inner fire, the empowerment inside of you.

Crystals for Empowerment

As we turn towards longer days with more sunlight - it’s a natural time to already feel these powerful energies stirring.  Wearing, meditating or otherwise working with these stones can help you to feel inspired and empowered to be your best self.

Carnelian -  This stone is a beauty to behold.  One of my all time favorites, carnelian really brings it visually and energetically.  It’s gives a total boost energetically, instilling vitality, courage, self esteem, personal power, creativity and passion, all wrapped up in a gorgeous orange chalcedony.

It’s an activating stone, encouraging you to motivate and offering empowering vibes for anyone that wants to tap into that vibration. This vibrant stone can also inspire creativity like nobody’s business.

Tiger's Eye and Citrine Bracelet

Tigers eye  - Golden Tigers Eye is really powerful for boosting strength, enthusiasm and courage. Particularly in social situations Tigers Eye is a great stone for calling in discernment, happiness and power. I like to wear this one often in social situations.  On occasions when I want to boost my social self.   This stone can help you maintain a sense of empowerment during times where you know you might not be able to get enough downtime to refresh - Tigers Eye helps tap into inner wisdom and personal power with positivity.

Citrine - Citrine is so joyful and warm.  It’s a sunny disposition in stone form.  As a type of quartz crystal it gets its golden yellow color from iron inclusions.  And it has bright and happy energy that immediately raises your self confidence and overall feelings of well-being. Citrine is also associated with abundance and positivity.  It’s often related to the Goddess Lakshmi and all things pertaining to abundance, prosperity, beauty and success. Wearing Citrine can brighten your day, your mood all while empowering you to more forward in your life towards the abundance that you seek.

Sunstone - Legend has it that Sunstone carries the energy of the Egyptian Sun god Ra.  It's light and happy. Often referred to as the stone of leadership, Sunstone is sunny and masculine and encourages you to embrace a leadership role.  It’s another  gemstone of personal power. This stone can help lift you up in a soulful way that is true to you -  your own personal mojo stone. It’s the Yang to Moonstones Yin. Together they are a powerful balancing combination.

There are many other great stones for empowerment including;  Amber, Pyrite, Ruby and Chrysocolla to name a few.

Stellar Combinations

You may have noticed that most of these stones are associated with the Sacral and Solar Plexus Chakras.  They are also associated with Fire and Summer energy.  Great anytime of year, but you might feel more called to them now that we are moving towards the Summer Solstice.

Another way to get creative is to have fun mixing up combinations of these stones by wearing them together.

Here are a few suggestions:

  • Tigers Eye, Citrine, Amber bracelet stacks

  • Carnelian and Citrine really complement each other, both energetically and aesthetically, so you might try a Citrine necklace and carnelian bracelet or vice versa.

  • Sunstone is excellent with Moonstone if you are looking to find some balance, it’s perfect around the Solstice and Equinox occasions.

  • Sunstone is also great with Citrine and Tiger’s Eye.

The most important element is that you feel empowered when you wear the stones or have them around you. So if it’s an entirely different stone that helps you tap into empowerment and it’s not listed here, no worries, go with that. Be empowered and shine bright.
